Knowledge should be accessible by all

One thing I've learned since my return to higher learning in 2024, the cost of an edcuation is a reach for many - even at the community college level. But, the greater barrier to knowledge may be the cost and limitation of the textbooks themselves.

In some cases, at least where my online classes were concerned, the cost of the books was included in the cost of the course. Initially that seemed like a deal until I realized the purchase was a license to access the textbook during the course. Future reference to the textbookt is impossible. This was a new concept for me. Enter OpenStax.

In the Spring of 2024, An introductory course to economics at Triton college reintroduced me to concepts I'd long forgottem and also introduced me to OpenStax textbooks. OpenStax texbooks are written by professors from prestigious colleges and are made freely available to students and educators to use.
